No Harm in Asking

Today has been a difficult day. Today, was my six-month-checkup with Dr. Jamie. I normally like Dr. Jamie, but not today. She told my Mommy and Daddy that I am very advanced for my age and very smart, because a fear of strangers normally doesn't start until 8 months! So, I am ahead of my class! :)

The nurse came in next and she wasn't so nice. She gave me four shots in my legs! And, they hurt. Who really needs shots? I don't think I do!

When Daddy got home from work, he tried to cheer me up and to take some pictures. I posed for two, even though I didn't want to!

Now, since I have had such a difficult day, I think one or all of my grandparents should send me a little present! That sure would make me feel better! Or, at least make me stop thinking about it!

After all, who could resist this face?

Mommy and Daddy (what do they really know) say presents aren't needed. They tell me I already have more than I need at six months old!

By the way, I have gained two pounds since my last doctor's visit and I have grown an inch since the last visit. The doctor said today that more than likely I will be tall like my Daddy and skinny like Daddy used to be! My Mommy will be looking up to me before you know it!

I'm Growing Up Too Fast

I keep hearing my Mommy and Daddy saying the same thing, "You are growing up too fast Evan!"

Is that really possible? Well, I don't know! All I am doing is growing up the best I know how to.

I've been working on sitting up. I don't quite have it down pat yet, but I am getting closer and closer. Here I am sitting on my boppy, it gives me a little help to keep my balance.

The longer I sit here, the closer and closer I come to taking a nose dive! Thankfully, my Daddy is sitting in front of me and my Mommy is sitting to my right (if you look closely, you'll see her red toenail on the bottom left of the picture). I like how the world looks from up here!

"S" is for Sunday and Shoes

Today has been kind of a historic day. Not only is it Sunday and church day, it has also been the first time in a long time that Mommy made me wear shoes. Personally, I don't see the need for socks and shoes, but Mommy says everyone has to wear shoes and so I should start now.

Here I am sitting in our chair, before heading out the door for church.

Here I am again, in the same chair, enjoying having my picture taken (for a change).

Mommy, do you really have to show my shoes so close up? I bet Pape and Granddaddy never had to wear shoes to church when they were little. Even when they had to walk through the snow, up hill, both ways, and they were just thankful to have feet!

Finally, a close up, no shoes being shown. Hello everybody!

A Surprise in the Mail

When Mommy and Daddy brought the mail in, they found a surprise for me! There was some other stuff in the box, but all I cared about was my new teddy bear!

Thanks Nene and Pape for my present!

I'm checking him out from all angles.

I can't get him much closer to my face!

Well, maybe I can.

Thanks Nene and Pape...my favorite color--Blue! It matches my eyes.

The Road to the Olympics

In less than a month, the Olympics start in China. I've seen the commericals about the games and I am beginning my own celebration a little early. As you can see, I'm wearing the colors of my beloved USA.

Here I am getting ready for the water polo match. I've shed my clothes, if you can't tell.

If I can't participate in the Olympics, then maybe I can start a new fashion statement.

What do you think? Am I a perfect 10.0?

Look! Up in the Sky!

My Mommy laid me on my tummy to take an afternoon nap. After a few minutes, I decided to roll over and sleep on my stomach.

Here I am pretending that I am Superman! Up, Up, and Away!

(My Mommy and Daddy regularly tell me I am their superman!)

More Pictures of Me and the Fishes

Did Mommy and Daddy lose me? This may be the first picture on my blog that doesn't include me!

Here I am again, back on the blog, with my Daddy. We both look so good next to the blue background!

Swimming with the Fishes

This past weekend, I went on my first vacation! I didn't know what a vacation was, but now I have a better idea, even if it were a very short, short vacation!

My parents took me to the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia. (Word of warning! Never go to the Georgia Aquarium on a Saturday in July! That is, unless you like being with 10 million people at one time!)

Here I am with my Mommy looking at the fish. I'm not sure how we got under the water and we can still breath!

Look at the pictures and you will see a trend. I'm not fighting my mother holding me, I am holding my head up so I can see all the fish above me.

If you were at the Aquarium on Saturday and saw a baby holding his head toward the sky, that would have been me!

Finally, one picture of me and Daddy--I just wanted to make sure you knew he went with us!

Some Random Shots from the Past Week

Everyone loves to get on my blog! Peanut and Mommy are seen from time-to-time on here, and it seems that Daddy is always taking the pictures!

Well, here I am with Peanut and Mommy, chillin' on the floor.

Daddy, where did you say we were going now?

I remember that place! And, I really, really like it!

The sun might be shining, so I'll make sure I cover my head with my blanket!

My blanket even shields my eyes, if I hold my head like so.

Saying Goodbye Is Never Easy

Well, it is Sunday afternoon and my Nene and Ashley have to leave to go home. Ashley keeps talking about having to go to some kind of camp tomorrow. I don't think she is a boy scout and I don't think she is old enough to be going to National Guard camp. Not sure what kind of camp she is going to, but maybe it will be fun for her anyway.

Here Nene and I are having a few fun minutes sitting in the floor.

Nene is telling me she has to leave.

Me and Ashley talking to one another. Well, Ashley does most of the talking and I do most of the listening. She keeps calling me a weird name and my parents say I can't type it on my blog. Not sure what the phrase means. I think it must be some kind of Tennessee saying, because people in Alabama don't talk like that!

One last picture with me and Ashley before she leaves. I'm going to miss her and Nene! I hope they come back really, really soon.

Just Me and the Girls

As we were preparing for church, I had to have my picture taken with Ashley and Nene...or at least that's what my Mommy said.

Here I am with Nene and Mommy. I'm the really cute short one in the middle!

Me and My Nene

Here I am with my Nene! I am very glad she is here. Who has the bigger smile?

Just in case you missed the first picture, here's another one with me and Nene!

Me and Some Little Girl

We had visitors today! My Mommy kept telling me that my Nene was coming to visit, but I didn't know she was bringing anybody with her, well, I guess I did, but didn't know it was a girl. Mommy tells me that the girl is my cousin, whatever a cousin is. Anyway, her name is Ashley and she seems nice!

In her honor, I gave her my best face, and of course, that means that I have to stick out my tongue!

Since Ashley is from Tennessee, I also thought I'd wear my Alabama hat in her honor--she's for some team that I've never heard of--the University of Tennessee. Has anybody ever heard of that team?

Good Friday Morning

It's been a few days since I have blogged. You know, life is just so fast paced for me and I don't have much time to stop and do the really important things. But, today, I'll try to do better, if possible.

Here's a nice closeup of me. I've just finished eating breakfast and thought now was a good time to pose for my closeup! Thank goodness Daddy wiped my face before the picture!

I've found a new way to wear my shorts! I'm going to start a new fashion statement for babies!

In truth, I'm playing "Where's Evan" with my Daddy. Daddy laid me on the floor and I grabbed my shorts and covered my eyes. I'm really learning how to play.

More Newness to Life

As I've told you, every day brings something new to my life!

Just yesterday, I discovered my tongue! I've been making faces since then--well, until the camera comes out and then I don't want to play that game anymore.

Daddy did manage to snap two quick pictures of me sticking my tongue out.

This shot is much better. See my tongue? See why I am having so much fun? This is just too cool!

My New Game

It seems like every day I learn something new. Today, I've learned how to play my version of "Peek-A-Boo." While I play it a little different, it is still fun! And, since I am only 5 months old, I think that's pretty good!

Enjoy the video.

Granny and Granddaddy on Video, Part 2

Here's part 2 of my special trip to my grandparents' house.

Hope you enjoy! And, after you see it, be sure to say hello to my grandparents the next time you see them!

Granny and Granddaddy on Video, Part 1

I'm doing my best to make my Granny and Granddaddy famous!

Here they are, on video, on my worldwide blog!

They'll soon need sunglasses and a hat, so that their adoring fans won't mob them every time they go out in public! I know I do!

Over the River and Through the Woods, Part 2

Of course, my Daddy took lots and lots of pictures. Why do parents do that? I don't really know...but they do.

Here I am again with my Granny.

My Mommy came over to check on me, to make sure everything was okay. As long as she doesn't touch my new Ernie that Granny gave me, everything will be fine...

Granddaddy and I are having a private moment. I'll never tell what we talked about.

Well, my parents said we had to leave. So, I leaned over and gave my Granddaddy a big hug. He's got pretty good shoulders for that!

Over the River and Through the Woods, Part 1

Today, we loaded up in the car and headed South. Didn't really know where we were heading, my parents tend to like roadtrips and other shorter trips--so, I just never know where we are heading!

Today, was a special day, we were off to Granny and Granddaddy's house!

Here I am with my Granny, enjoying a special moment.

Another shot with Granny. For some reason, she just couldn't put me down. Who can blame her!

Then, this man came over to sit with us. At first, I wasn't sure who he was, but he seemed friendly enough and liked talking with me. It didn't take me too long to realize that this was my Granddaddy. He's a funny man!

I had to look over at my Daddy...of coursse, as always, he's taking pictures.
