A Long, Long Week

I know I haven't blogged since last Tuesday. I am sorry about that. But, I've had a very long, long week!

My cold got worse on Friday and I began to run a fever. Yesterday, my fever went to 103.0 and my parents knew I needed to see the doctor. So, off we went to see the doctor (not my favor doctor, Dr. Jamie). At that point, I didn't really care who I saw! I just needed to get to feeling better.

Long story short, I have my first ear infection! The doctor gave me some medicine and ear drops. I feel better and am sleeping better today. But, it will be several more days before I am completely well.

This morning, my Mommy and Daddy got me up and gave me a good bath. Mommy even washed my hair a little. And, Daddy had to have some fun with my hair.

Can you see how funny my hair looks?

Don't miss my shirt either! Mommy says it is a new shirt and describes my philosophy to life right now.

Even though I don't feel 100%, I can still smile with the best of them.

And, make my Mommy wish she's taken the brush away from Daddy!

Our Sunshine on a Rainy Day

It has rained for the last month, or it feels like it! My Daddy keeps saying that we've had over 8 inches of rain. Not sure how much that is, but it sounds like a lot!

Here I am playing with Mommy. I've got my baseball jumper on...and I'm trying to eat my baseball rattle! What fun!

How can this face not brighten your day?

I'm my parent's MVP (Most Valuable Pooper)...

Okay, I'm officially tired of picture taking...I'm ready to move on to something else--like DINNER!

I've Got to Learn Somehow

After lunch today, Daddy gave me my bowl and spoon. Giving it to me "after" lunch was probably pretty smart for him to do! I think the pictures below will show why that is true.

First, here's my bowl.

Any my spoon.

And then, my spoon and bowl together.

If I could just learn to eat out of my bowl, then I wouldn't need a spoon or my Mommy and Daddy!

Then again, I'd still need someone to wipe my face after I finished making a mess...and to wash off my high chair tray...and mop the floor (no wait, that's what Peanut is good for!).

Me and the Old Man

Well...we are home from another day of Daycare...I'm not sure where Mommy and Daddy go all day, but I know I go to school.

Here I am with my Daddy, enjoying a little fun.

Most of the time I don't like the camera. Today, I can't seem to take my eyes off of it.

My Daddy has gotten very smart. He knows to take his shirt off when he gets home, unless he wants me to spit up and slobber all over it!

How's this angle Mommy?

Just two Heartsill men chilling...

Me and Nene

After my Olympic debut on the high dive, the Canadian team needed my help! It seems that Nene lost her dance partner due to an sprained big toe. So, the first person she thought of to help her was me!

Please watch the video below and let us know how we did.

My Olympic Debut

Yesterday was my Pape's birthday. I'm not sure how old he is, but he must be older than my Mommy.

I had really hoped to get the video below online yesterday but my competition wasn't until this morning. I am so glad that NBC got a good video for me to upload! This gold metal is for you Pape!

Happy Birthday from your favorite grandson!

Love,

Evan

Yesterday vs. Today

Just yesterday, I was totally helpless and immobile.

Just yesterday, I spent the entire day laying flat of my back.

Just yesterday, I couldn't do much of anything on my own.

Just yesterday, I was totally dependent upon my Mommy and Daddy.

Just yesterday, I needed someone to basically do anything.

But today, today is a new day!

I've discovered that things have drawers and doors!

And, before long, I'll be able to open those drawers and doors!

The only thing I don't realize is that this particular drawer is filled with Mommy's CD collection! It takes a 4 x 4 monster truck with monster tires with a monster chain big enough to pull a monster cruise ship to open this door!

But, there's always tomorrow!

Can anyone say "Child proofing" ahead!

Sunday is for Church

Today is a special day. Not only is today Sunday, but it is the first time my Mommy has sung on the praise team at our church! I'm not sure what a praise team is, but it sounds so important.

I am so proud of my Mommy! For her to get up in front of everybody to sing! Wow! I am impressed! I want to be just like my Mommy when I grow up--well, I want to sing just like her, but I want to be tall like my Daddy.

Because today was so special, I had to get all dressed up. I wore my blue pants, white shirt, and yellow sweater that my Aunt Lora and Uncle Troy gave me. I feel so grown up.

Don't worry. I did have socks on at church. But, my toes just have to be free. My toes are Tennessee toes--they don't like socks and shoes!

After church, while we were eating, my Mommy made a discovery. This last week, my parents found that I had my first tooth come in on the bottom. Well, today, Mommy found that my second bottom tooth is now in! I am growing up...Mommy says way too fast.

Saturday Lunch

Happy Saturday afternoon!

Today, I had a new lunch. For lunch, I had my normal cereal, that wasn't new, but Mommy also added plums with apples to my diet. I sure did like them!

Well, it took me a minute to decide for sure.

Mommy can't wait for me to chew! I only have a little, tiny baby tooth coming in. Slow down!

I do like saving some for later! And, the only place to keep it is on my face.

Lunch is all done and my Mommy cleaned up my face. So, I thought I'd give you a big smile!

A Thursday in my Life

I'm home from Daycare and practicing sitting up. I'm getting much better at it and I actually enjoy it!

Look everybody! No hands!

I'm also learning how to dance...

And, I'm smiling!

After playing with Mommy and Daddy, I had my yummy dinner. I had cereal, bananas, and sweet peas. Yum-O! As Daddy was feeding me, he discovered something in my mouth. I have my first tooth coming in! Mommy and Daddy were so proud, and my Mommy even cried! Not sure why, but it was something about me growing up too fast!

Saturday Morning Fun

I'm still feeling a little puny from my cold, but I am doing a little better.

Here I am pretending that I can fly!

If you look closely, you'll see my drool.

Drool is still there. Kiss anyone?

Everything these days goes directly into my mouth. I'm hoping to find my teeth before too long! Does anyone know where they are?

At least I am trying to be happy! My nose is still stuffy, but it will okay.

Making Me Feel Better

Just a few minutes ago, the doorbell rang. At the door was a box. A box that had my name on it!

Daddy brought the box in and helped me open it quickly. It was from my Granny and Granddaddy! And, it was a little present to help me feel better--how did they know that I have a cold? I guess grandparents are just smart that way.

I really liked the clothes they sent, but not as much as my new puppy dog.

I think I am going to name him Tobey.

He's already making me smile and laugh!

And even scream out loud at the top of my voice!

Thank you Granny and Granddaddy! I'll ask my Mommy or Daddy to take a picture of me in my new clothes later; but for now, they can't pry the doggy out of my hands!

Friday is Blah!

Well...no pictures so far today...so, everybody can save their ink.

This Friday started out with a great big BLAH! I have a cold, or so it seems. My nose is stuffy and I am coughing...Mommy and Daddy say that I will be okay, but I sure feel puny!

If I feel better later, I'll try to pose for a few pictures.

Green is for Peas

Tonight, I made a gigantic step in food--I moved to green food. My very first green food was Sweet Peas (or as Granny and Granddaddy call them, English Peas)...

While they kind of looked yucky, I will have to admit, they were pretty good. At first, I did have to think about it for a minute. Not sure if I really wanted to chew.

Sometimes, when Daddy is feeding me, he misses my mouth! I don't know how he does it, but he does. Well, I have an idea how he misses my mouth--I'm usually moving around a good bit! That could be part of the problem.

Well, the Sweet Peas were good--so now I'm doing better than both my Mommy and my Daddy. Mommy doesn't like squash and Daddy doesn't really like Green Peas. I think I'm going to like both of them!

Lessons Mommy Can Learn

I am only six months and a day old, but I've already done something my Mommy won't do!

Tonight, I had squash for the first time and I really liked it!

Unlike my Mommy, who will not even try squash! What kind of example is she giving me?

"Mommy, what's good for me, is good for you! I'm going to remember this!"

If I don't want what my parents are giving me, Peanut is always close by to catch anything that drops on the floor! Good Peanut! I may need you sometime soon!
